I am a final-year Biochemistry student at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), minoring in Plant Biochemistry and Biotechnology. I have solid experience in plant tissue culture (surface sterilization, media preparation, callus induction, shoot/root regeneration, and acclimatization) and have worked with Agrobacterium-mediated plant transformation, including explant preparation and marker-based selection. I am proficient in literature review and data analysis using Excel, Python, and R, with knowledge of molecular techniques such as plasmid construction, gene expression analysis, and PCR verification. My training has strengthened my foundation in biochemistry, molecular biology, and microbiology, along with essential lab skills like accurate pipetting, solution preparation, and analytical techniques. Driven by curiosity and a strong interest in scientific research, I continuously explore academic literature to expand my understanding and stay current with developments in biochemistry and biotechnology.

Skilled in aseptic techniques, microbiological handling, quality control, experimental documentation, and protocol optimization within a biotechnology laboratory environment. - Conducted microalgae cultivation and maintenance using aseptic laboratory techniques. - Performed quality control (QC) monitoring to ensure culture purity, health, and growth performance. - Prepared and sterilized culture media, laboratory equipment, and consumables for cultivation processes. - Assisted in culture scale-up, process optimization, and routine laboratory operations. - Supported R&D activities to improve cultivation protocols and operational efficiency. - Recorded experimental data and maintained proper laboratory documentation. - Applied microbiological techniques including sterile handling, contamination control, and media preparation.
Project title: In vitro growth of Cattleya hybrid and Dendrobium crumenatum orchids with different concentrations of banana homogenate. Course: BCH4301 Plant Biochemistry Semester: 2, Session 2023/2024 Location: Plant and Algae Biochemistry & Biotechnology Laboratory, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) As part of the REAL (Research-Enhanced Active Learning) program, I actively engaged in hands-on research aligned with the course objectives, gaining practical experience in plant tissue culture techniques within a structured academic research setting. Key Contributions and Achievements: 1. Collaborative Research Planning: Worked closely with the course supervisor and lab assistant to design and coordinate research timelines and protocols, enhancing team-based research communication and planning skills. 2. Mastered Core Plant Tissue Culture Techniques: a) Prepared Murashige and Skoog (MS) media with precision, ensuring sterile and nutrient-rich conditions. b) Operated laminar airflow cabinet and autoclave for aseptic work and sterilization processes. c) Performed sterile culture transfer techniques to minimize contamination risk and improve culture viability. 3. Critical Problem Solving: Developed troubleshooting strategies during experimental procedures, improving resilience and adaptability in a laboratory environment. 4. Research Literacy: Conducted targeted literature reviews to strengthen my understanding of plant biochemical pathways and support experimental design with evidence-based approaches. This experience not only deepened my technical skills in plant biotechnology but also cultivated my ability to work independently, solve problems analytically, and contribute meaningfully to research-focused environments.
