Epidemiologist and real world evidence (RWE) specialist working in global pharmaceutical research, development, and commercialisation. Currently Associate Director, Biostatistics Real World Data at Novartis, supporting the design and statistical analysis of non-interventional (NIS) and RWE studies within Advanced Quantitative Sciences Global Medical Affairs, with specialisation in patient preference studies and external control arms. Previously at AstraZeneca, where I led RWE generation across CVRM, respiratory, and vaccines portfolios in partnership with the NHS (UK market). I hold a DPhil (PhD) and MSc from the University of Oxford and a BSc from UCL.
Supporting the design and statistical analysis of non-interventional (NIS) and real world evidence (RWE) studies across oncology, neuroscience, gene therapy, immunology, and cardiovascular-renal-metabolic (CRM) therapy areas within Advanced Quantitative Sciences (AQS) Global Medical Affairs. Specialising in patient preference studies and external control arms.
I am responsible for generating evidence by implementing innovative data solutions and conducting epidemiological studies within the Medical and Scientific Affairs. I lead data partnerships with the NHS, develop novel analytical tools and platforms, and support clinical trial recruitment, market access and population health activities aligned with AstraZeneca's Practice Change at Scale agenda. I ensure that good practice (GxP) requirements, pharmacovigilance, and other regulatory/compliance considerations related to evidence generation activities are met. Also, I contribute proactively to brand, medical and evidence planning through cross-functional activities and engagement. I work within the Population Health Hub and contribute to informing policy, service provision and the strategic direction for the City and Hackney place-based partnership. The Population Health Hub is an integrated team created to support wider system partners in understanding and taking effective action to improve population health through prevention, service quality improvement and addressing the "wider determinants" of health. I manage projects and engage with stakeholders, as well as gather and critically appraise evidence and work with a wide range of datasets to produce timely and impactful insight. I also created range of toolkits to support complex population health intervention evaluations.
I work collaboratively with the team (Population Health Innovation and Entrepreneurship) to develop plans and strategies. I bring my population health expertise when taking on public & population health assignments. I actively participate in health improvement projects to develop necessary background evidence for innovation, including digital health, research and development. I take ownership of market analysis, consumer analysis and evidence gathering for specific population health projects and provide recommendations for the client's future activity.
