About

A Medical Assistant Student seeking a part-time/intern position that has flexible hours that supports physicians, nurses, and other medical staff to facilitate patient care utilizing my clinical and administrative skills to contribute to the delivery of quality patient care. I have 18 months of experience as Patient Care Coordinator and Home Care Worker and seeking a healthcare position to use my educational background, time management, and interpersonal skills to provide quality assistance to patients and allow opportunities for personal and professional growth with experienced medical professionals. My passion and enthusiasm for the healthcare field stem from the experience and knowledge gained taking care of my great-grandmother. At an early age, I had the pleasure of my Great-grandmother coming to live with us. She was such a wise and vibrant person. When she was no longer able to take care of herself, my family and I stepped in. I was always fascinated by the fact that it took a special person to draw my great-grandmother’s blood. We always had to go to the hospital for her blood draw. My passion and compassion for caring for my great-grandmother had a positive influence on my choosing a career in the healthcare field. As a medical assistant student, my school schedule changes each term. I’m looking for a part-time or intern position that has a flexible schedule for my classes. I will graduate with my AS Medical Assisting: Clinical degree in May 2024, then take the CMA exam. Since I plan on obtaining my BSN in nursing, it will take an additional year for me to complete my nursing prerequisite classes before applying to a nursing program. My experience, educational background, and training have helped me develop my compassion for others and to be a positive influence in the healthcare field. • American Heart Association - Basic Life Support • Medical Terminology Certification • Currently enrolled at San Jose City College – Medical Assisting: Clinical Classes taken or currently enrolled: o Medical Terminology – Fall 2021 o Introduction to Medical Assisting – Fall 2021 o Medical Office Emergencies – Fall 2022 o Human Structure & Function – Fall 2022 o Physical Exam Procedures – Spring 2023 o Medication Administration for Medical Assistants – Spring 2023 o Medical Office Lab Procedures – Fall 2023 o Medical Asepsis & Surgical Procedures – Fall 2023 o Medical Assisting Clinical Experience – Spring 2024 – Anticipated Graduation - May 2024
