Completed a 4-week industrial training program with EBS in Baghdad, covering the full upstream well lifecycle from subsurface geology through drilling, completion, production engineering, and surface processing. Drilling & Well Control: Rig systems (hoisting, rotating, circulating), HSE, kick detection, well-kill methods (Driller's, Wait-and-Weight), BOP stack operation, BHA design, and structural/carbonate geology relevant to Iraqi reservoirs. Wellbore Evaluation: Drilling fluid engineering, mud logging, open- and cased-hole wireline log interpretation (gamma ray, resistivity, density, neutron, sonic), and Production Logging Tool (PLT) diagnostics for flow profiling and zone isolation. Completion, Workover & Production: Well completion and workover design, well abandonment, coil tubing operations, ESP artificial lift system design, nitrogen lifting to restart dead wells, and reservoir management fundamentals. Production Modeling & Surface Facilities: Built and analyzed well models in PROSPER (IPR/VLP, nodal analysis, sensitivity studies on water cut and reservoir pressure decline); studied surface facility design including separation, gas handling, and export metering. Reinforced classroom learning through field visits to an active drilling rig, an EPF/CPF processing facility, and the Oil & Gas Institute, and completed a comprehensive written assessment spanning all four technical areas.
