Now, I find myself embarking on a transformative placement year at the renowned BMW, where I have been entrusted with the exciting task of managing a cutting-edge robotic dog, known as Spot. This unique and innovative project has not only allowed me to showcase my technical prowess but has also challenged me to think creatively and adapt to the ever-evolving demands of the industry. Alongside my work with Spot, I have also had the privilege of contributing to a diverse array of tasks, including web design and the implementation of Power BI, a powerful data visualization and business intelligence tool. These multifaceted responsibilities have enabled me to expand my skill set, hone my problem-solving abilities, and develop a keen understanding of the interdisciplinary nature of Computer Science. As I navigate this pivotal placement year, I am constantly in awe of the opportunities that have presented themselves, allowing me to bridge the gap between academic theory and real-world application. Each challenge I have faced, from optimizing robotic systems to crafting visually stunning websites, has served as a stepping stone towards my ultimate goal of becoming a trailblazer in the ever-evolving world of Computer Science.       While completing my final year at university, I work part time at BMW Group Hams Hall within the IT and Digitalisation team. I support the migration of VTS to Oracle APEX and SharePoint Online, focusing on modernising legacy processes, improving data visibility, and strengthening system reliability. I use Power Automate to streamline workflows and reduce manual tasks, and Power BI to build dashboards that surface operational insights for stakeholders. I also develop Python scripts to automate data processing, validation, and system checks, and work with APIs to integrate data across platforms. In addition, I have exposure to Amazon AWS services for basic cloud operations and data handling, supporting scalable and reliable system design.

      As a Maintenance Intern at BMW, I have been entrusted with a diverse range of responsibilities that have allowed me to contribute significantly to the company's operations. My primary role is to serve as the key caretaker and overseer of SPOTTO, the mechanical robot dog used for various maintenance and inspection tasks throughout the facility. Apart from SPOTTO, I’ve taken ownership of a broad spectrum of IT initiatives—from modernizing and maintaining production-critical Power BI dashboards (including those inherited from BMW predecessors) to architecting and managing our SQL databases—to ensure reliable, error-free reporting at scale. I’ve also designed and deployed AWS QuickSight dashboards on our CDH platform for real-time planned-maintenance insights, built custom Power Apps and Power Automate workflows to eliminate manual data-entry. This combination of BI, cloud analytics, automation, and database engineering has directly strengthened our data-driven decision-making and operational efficiency. Through this multifaceted internship, I have gained valuable hands-on experience in maintenance operations, robotics, and information technology. I am proud to be contributing to the success of BMW's world-class manufacturing processes and look forward to continuing to expand my knowledge and capabilities in this dynamic environment.
