About

Dr. Yara Sanchez-Corrales is a Computational Research Fellow at the Institute of Child Health, University College London (UCL). With over a decade of experience at the interface of computation and biology, she develops and applies advanced computational approaches to unravel complex questions in cell and developmental biology. Her current research integrates high-throughput single-cell and spatial transcriptomics, image analysis, and machine learning to investigate pregnancy complications and rare childhood diseases. By decoding the molecular and spatial landscapes of these conditions, her work aims to bridge discovery science with clinical translation, advancing understanding and treatment of diseases that begin before birth. Dr. Sanchez-Corrales also co-leads UCL’s postgraduate module Computational Biology in Personalised Medicine, training the next generation of researchers to harness data-driven approaches in genomics and precision health.
