About

I am Yan Ni, a Year 3 Banking and Finance student at Singapore Polytechnic with a strong passion for regulatory compliance and its vital role in safeguarding the integrity and stability of financial institutions. My interest in this field developed through a module I took, Financial Regulations and Compliance. It deepened my understanding of how regulatory frameworks operate and how they uphold safety and trust within the financial sector. I was honoured to receive the Director’s Honour Roll (AY24/25), which recognises the top 10% of my cohort, and was selected for Singapore Polytechnic Outstanding Talent (SPOT), an exclusive programme for the top 4% of students across Singapore Polytechnic. In addition to my academic achievements, I served as part of the Executive Committee of the School of Business Club, where I oversaw the Quartermaster committee and led the planning and execution of large-scale events such as Friends Fest, Freshman Orientation Camp, and School of Business Carnival. These experiences have honed my leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, enabling me to perform effectively in fast-paced and high-pressure environments. Looking ahead, I aspire to pursue a career in financial compliance, contributing to the design and implementation of effective compliance frameworks within organisations. I keep informed on industry developments through updates from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), global regulatory standards such as Basel III, and emerging regulatory technology solutions. I am eager to apply my ethical integrity, attention to detail, and high work ethic to support organisations in the area of financial compliance. Feel free to connect with me or reach out at [email protected] as I am always open to opportunities to learn, grow, and contribute meaningfully in the field of financial compliance.
