Infrastructure Engineer
Lead the design, development and implementation of Terraform code to rapidly deploy new bike share system in cities that we operate. Operate multiple physical sites as well as AWS regions. Strong knowledge of networking stack, ipv4, dns, routing, iptables/ firewall&Security Groups, OpenVPN and Ipsec Tunnels. Maintain and upgrade the Ansibles playbooks to bootstrap and support the infrastructure deployed. Put in place new metrics and monitoring system with datadog to pro-actively catch potential issues before they arrive. Responsible for PCI quarterly scan and annual audit, make sure that the infrastructure remain PCI-DSS compliant.
At Mediagrif I was responsible to design and put in production a new automation process for the provisioning of virtual machine with vmware hypervisor. Using salt stack and a combination of in-house applications to manage the ips assignment and automatic dns registration our team was now able to deliver standardized vms withing a click. A few of my responsibility aside from troubleshooting applications or server issues was to monitor the core component of the infrastructure ( san, switch, esx cluster etc..) using NagioXL and Solardwind.
My main responsibility at MindGeek is to support the vmware infrastructure across multiple regions, delivery of virtual server using custom deployment tool and configuration using puppet. The inventory system is very critical at Mindgeek with more than thousand of vm's to manage we have made a custom build inventory system and I had the opportunity to integrate new back-end feature and api end point. We manage over 20,000 thousand domains and dns requests everyday.
As part of a fully founctional and dynamic team, I have been working, managing and supporting all the systems in the organisation’s IT infrastructure. Also part of my job duties were the analysis, diagnosis, and troubleshooting of issues. * Orchestration, administration, provisioning, implementation, of different system across the infrastructure. (vmware, bare-metal) * Ensure quality operation of VMware infrastructure with over 1500+ virtual servers through effective management and support. * Administer and support entire infrastructure of physical servers. * Handle requests for replacements, liaising with suppliers such as EMC. * Being part of on-call rotation 24/7. * Diagnose and debugg hardware / software / OS troubles. * Working with automation tools CFengine, puppet and chef. * I have been working with a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services provider. (aws, google) * Manage and support servers hosted on AWS, using RightScale as a management tool. * Using Chef technologie to automate, control and deliver servers and services faster. * Using monitoring tools like nagios to keep all the system in healty states and running. * Supporting tools like Elasticsearch, Newrelic and Splunk giving the company powerful reporting and analytic tools.
Started from level-2 SysAdmin I quickly rank up over the past years to reach the Professional Service team; Tier-4. Managing dedicated portfolio, Providing expertise and technical assistance to VIP client. Updating documentation and writing new procedure. Incubate new business product such as MPC (Microsoft Private Cloud) and SmartServer. Provide coaching and assistance to lower tier.
