I’m a second year Medical Student at UCL (University College London) who aims to inspire and motivate students to attaining academic success. My current interests lie in paediatrics, neurology, social determinants of health and healthcare during political crisis. As an aspiring future doctor and advocate for healthcare politics, I am open to any opportunity that blends any of my interests, so do reach out. Outside of my studies, I'm incredibly involved in community work, tutoring and personal development. This includes my volunteering work, tutoring students in my community and training younger students to refine their public speaking and debating skills. I also have a podcast (The MeenaMedic Podcast) where I discuss current news within the healthcare sector.
Numerous roles including: - Founding, co-hosting, editing and promoting the "Teddy Talks" Podcast, initially based at UCL, now, a national initiative. - Involvement in hosting the London Medical Schools Paediatrics Conference. - Running of socials and helping host teaching sessions throughout the academic year. - Voted by members of the Medical School as incoming Chair (2026/27)
Involved in multiple initiatives targeting Medical Student welfare, including but not limited to: - Co-hosting a welcome lecture to incoming UCL Med first years to aid the transition into medical school smoother. - Assisting in improving the current RUMS welfare handbook to include further details on academic engagement. - Helping organise the annual RUMS families initiative, including categorising students into families and helping other members of the team to run activities for the initiative. - Involved in multiple focus groups to highlight difficulties students face to faculty.
Involved in running numerous initiatives - Platforming and advertising the Teddy Talks Podcast on a national level. - Developing, contacting interviewees, hosting, recording and editing the episodes of the Teddy Talks Podcast. - Assisting coordination of the NUPS X GOSH Teaching Series. - Hosted a panel and helped volunteer at the London Medical Schools' Paediatrics Conference 2026, hosted by UCL.
