- Completed my final-year dissertation project in the Jepson lab at the UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology. - Investigated the potential of pharmacological treatment with rivastigmine to rescue movement defects in Drosophila models of genetic dystonias. - Presented poster in the KCL Annual Neuroscience Conference (Trivergence 2025). Internship funded by the Amgen Foundation. - Studied the role of the microbiome on colon cancer, specifically interactions between the oral pathogens P. gingivalis and F. nucleatum and colon cancer cells. - Presented poster in the Amgen Scholars Europe Symposium at the University of Cambridge. - Four week internship, part of the WISER (Work Internship, Student Experience in Research) program at KAUST. - Worked on a project investigating Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) derived exosomes and their potential to induce changes in chemoresistance, apoptosis, and proliferation of AML cells. - Selected amongst the top ~1% of Grade 11 students in Saudi Arabia. - Worked on using CRISPR to degrade the native genome of E. Coli cells so they can be used as “biological factories” for target compounds. - Read scientific literature and wrote a scientific-style paper. Authored and presented a poster and presentation to the public, research scientists, and faculty committees. Received the Top Scientific Paper Award (1st place), was selected for the top 10 presentations.
