I love to be challenged and to learn. I tend to take a less conventional approach to life and business and it so far it's working out. One of the secrets I have learned is that the answers you get depends on the questions you ask. I bring a different perspective to my clients issues. I ask different questions. And thats why I get different results. One of the driving questions that shaped PXP is what kind of company do I wish existed when I was starting out as a solo web developer. As a result I am having the time of my life working with some amazing people and building some of the most incredible sites and apps. I owe the life I have to being a web developer and designer. While I don’t have the opportunity to write as much code as I would like, I still identify myself as a developer and now I get to write the code I want to write. The thrill of building something out of nothing is what I intend to chase for the rest of my life. Whenever possible, I will be knee-deep in a river some where trying to catch a fish.
After freelancing on the side for a few years I had the opportunity to make it my full-time focus. For the last several years, PXP has become a place that many developers call home and have the opportunity to work for some really great clients. My role at PXP is to help find, build and maintain relationships between our clients and our developers. I also help set the vision and direction of PXP.
As the tech co-founder I am responsible for all of the architecture of the cloud side development as well as the android app with the hardware that is on site at all of our locations.
In my 2 years at this agency I managed and created over 250 projects for clients like FranklinCovey, Novell, Easton, O.C. Tanner and Omniture/Adobe. I helped grow the agency and the development team by implementing the evergreen framework and agile-like development processes. I worked closely with the clients, creative and account teams to deliver a TON of high quality sites very quickly.
My first start up experience. Our aim was to create several destination sites for outdoor sportsmen to buy gear and book travel for hunting and fishing trips. My team and I focused on building a framework that would allow us to build sites quickly. The framework continued to evolve after the project was dissolved and soon became a staple for every site I worked on from that point forward and has had thousands of sites built on it since. You can find it on github under naturalcodeproject/evergreen.
For the first few years at O.C. Tanner I was responsible for creating and maintaining sites for their clients. I also introduced web based and CD based multimedia into the sales and marketing departments. Some of the clients I did work for were Coca-Cola, Apple, Disney, Pepsi and Bally’s. As I became more interested in web development I was able to move to the marketing department and started building content management systems in PHP and MySQL for internal and external company sites. I was also part of a team that started carrots.com. It promoted 2 well known authors/speakers in HR. My last year there I was part of the team that created thanks.com.
