My profile is that of a tourism versed and creative strategist with an eye on the long term. The St. Maarten Hospitality & Trade Association (SHTA) board and team tries to continuously contribute to the associations' highest goal - quality of life for all St. Maarten residents. We try to innovate and expand intrinsic benefits for our membership covering over half of the national economic product of country Sint Maarten, to support and enhance the island tourism product as well as the association and its partnerships on island and beyond. In a wider Caribbean perspective, I represent SHTA and its membership within the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association (CHTA). SHTAs new products build on crosspollination with my previous projects as a strategy advisor scenario planning in mobility, tourism, corporate travel, airports, automotive, railways, spatial design, marketing, advertising and security. Other fields I worked on long term strategy development include banking, communication, CSR, design, education (primary, secondary, vocationary, university), energy, finance, government (national, province, municipal), healthcare, HR, IT, management, NGO's, politics, recycling and telecom.
The Sint Maarten Hospitality and Trade Association SHTA is the largest private business representative on Sint Maarten. The SHTA represents the interests of over half of Sint Maarten's economy in hospitality, tourism, services, trade and industry. As a strategy consultant in the private sector I worked on scenarioplanning projects for profit organisations like Adecco, Alcatel Lucent, Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, Genzyme, Pon, Publicis, Rabobank, Roche Diagnostics, PriceWaterhouseCoopers and the Association of Dutch Brewers. Projects for governmental bodies are those for the Ministries of Traffic and Water, Defense, Education, Foreign Affairs, Justice, Agriculture and the provinces of Drenthe, Friesland, Groningen, Noord-Holland and Noord-Brabant and a considerable amount of municipalities. Trying to share my experience in scenario planning and vision development I held masterclasses on a variety of Dutch Universities and in-company masterclasses in Holland, Belgium, France, Spain, Turkey and the United States. Based on my experiences I designed the Professional Future Strategist Courses at Nyenrode Business University, and am happy to have the honor to manage the Scenario Planning and Future Strategy Group on Linkedin. Non-profit activities concerned the Young Think Tank of ABN AMRO, Secretariat of the Amsterdam Association of Politics Alumni, roundtables by the National Security program of the Netherlands, the NATO Multiple Futures project, Singapore's ministry of Tourism and Industry, the Lucerne Business School and TNO Labour.
