About

With a Bachelors of Science in Environmental and Sustainability Sciences and both public and private filed experience, I have procured an intense interest in the field of environmental sciences along with a burgeoning motivation to play a role in the development of public policy and economic incentives to guide the actions of companies and consumers in a way that reduces the speed at which our planet is warming. My interest in this field was catalyzed by a community development project I worked on in high school. This project included building a community garden, installing solar panels and sustainable gardens on the roofs of large community buildings, and the construction of a local park. This project was presented to community officials and provided me with experience in environmental research, planning and policy as well as the opportunity to communicate directly with political leaders. This project was a single step in sustainable development that is easily scalable across every neighborhood in the country. At 22-years old I am in the early stages of learning about how the world works. What I do see is how vital it is to develop policies and incentives that increase sustainable decision making and reduce the impact of climate change in a way that is fair to governments, corporations, and the people who rely on both those entities to do the right thing. What I am most certain of is that inaction is not an option and that we must be decisive in creating meaningful and effective solutions to the environmental crisis that affects us all.
