As a Project Engineer at Belgiums' leading product innovation center, my main tasks were centered around: - Daily management of technical innovation and R&D projects in various markets (Mechanical Design, Food & Beverage, Motion Control, Industrial Design, Consumer Products,...) - Mechanical Design of test benches, industrial products and a motion platform - Stress & thermal simulation to support and validate mechanical designs of myself and co-workers - Labview programming of data acquisition and motion control systems - Matlab programming for simulation and data processing Within this position, a broad cross-domain experience and an openness to improve knowledge in other domains was a necessity. As a test leader, I was responsible for the coordination of the flight test instrumentation (FTI) and certification testing of the ASCO A400M Flap supports. My tasks included: - Defining test requirements and specifications for certification of in-house designed parts in coordination with the design team - Monthly meetings at the Airbus test center in Hamburg to follow-up tests, and to coordinate the sharing of test results between our stress engineers and the test center - Processing test results
As a test and development project engineer, I was responsible for and/or participated in several IWT funded research projects. Within these projects, I performed: - Management of an IWT project focused on a new generation stainless steels for the aircraft industry - Design of an aircraft structural wing part in composite materials as a replacement for a more common steel design - Design of test equipment and execution of tests
