Prof.dr.ir. Wouter van Elmpt is appointed as professor at Tilburg University for the endowed chair on implementation of AI in healthcare organizations at TiSEM/ISOM. Furthermore, he is program manager at Maastro (a specialized oncological center for radiotherapy treatments) with extensive experience in coordinating multidisciplinary innovation projects in healthcare. At Tilburg University he is focusing on developing strategies for implementation, adoption and evaluation of novel technologies in healthcare, such as Artificial Intelligence, supported by scientific insights. At Maastro, his focus is the implementation of innovation and research in routine clinical practice by coordinating an innovation team of different disciplines (e.g. physicist, physicians, technicians, engineers and IT) to advance radiotherapy techniques for patient care. With a background in physics, program management and a strong interest in artificial intelligence, Wouter has contributed to initiatives that integrate AI into clinical workflows, decision support systems and outcome-driven evaluation frameworks.
