I am Wong Swee Yang, a Singapore Polytechnic student graduating with a Diploma in Banking and Finance. Motivated and detail-oriented, I am passionate about building a career as a Compliance Officer. My academic journey has equipped me with critical thinking, strong analytical skills, and a solid understanding of financial regulations and ethical business practices. Naturally meticulous and organized, I excel in ensuring adherence to policies and standards. My ability to interpret complex rules and apply them to real-life scenarios highlights my suitability for compliance roles. My strength in working with numbers and calculations also enables me to effectively identify irregularities. A notable example of this skill is my achievement as the top Mathematics student in my cohort during Secondary 1 at Chua Chu Kang Secondary School. Beyond academics, I have honed my leadership and interpersonal skills through various roles. As the Quartermaster of the School of Business Club, I collaborated with sub-committees and executives to organize key events such as the Freshmen Orientation Programme and Lecturer’s Day. Additionally, my role as a group leader during the Freshman Orientation Camp allowed me to further develop my teamwork and organizational abilities. Currently, I am an active member of the Banking and Finance Outreach Community, where I continue to refine my public speaking, networking, and problem-solving skills. Goal-driven and proactive, I thrive in team-oriented environments, always approaching challenges with critical thinking and determination. As a Year 2 Banking and Finance student at Singapore Polytechnic, I am currently working towards becoming a compliance officer by gaining practical experience through internships during term breaks, staying updated on financial regulations, and pursuing relevant online certifications at the Coursea website Compliance. I am also constantly trying to gain connections, trying to know more on life in the Compliance Officer and other similar job lines from my church friends.
-Check customers in and out of the gym efficiently -Assist customers with various needs, such as opening faulty lockers and booking classes -Clean gym studios during changeovers, ensuring a welcoming environment -Maintain cleanliness and organization in the Male Changing Room -Tidy up the Rest and Recovery (R&R) zone to ensure a comfortable space for members -Go beyond my job scope by assisting with tasks like responding to emails and cleaning the lounge during peak hours, especially when short-staffed, to ensure smooth operations and excellent service
