What I bring to your organization is finely honed abilities to help people and groups work up to their ability and achieve results. I do this through my skills and personality developed from more than 25 years of being an organizational development and human resources professional. I excel at helping people work in focused, collaborative, and effective ways to do the work required for organizational excellence. My writing and curriculum building skill are excellent. I energetically build relationships, design processes and strategies. By helping people focus on key priorities, coach leaders and staff on personal effectiveness, processes are streamlined, productivity improves and conflicts are resolved. My experiences have taken me to many Fortune 500 companies as an external consultant (American Productivity and Quality Center, Indiana Labor and Management Center etc.). Working internally has taken me to diverse organizations such as United Airlines, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, the US Army and a large Electrical Utility Company in Texas. Currently I have operated my own consulting firm specializing in strategic direction setting, leadership development and change management services for libraries, religious organizations and other non-profits. Recently I received an additional appointment as an adjunct instructor of psychology at the Illinios Institute of Art in Schaumburg. I currently am also a guest lecturer in leadership at Dominican University’s Graduate School of Library and Information Science. Academically I hold a BS from Purdue in Business Economics, an MS in Educational Psychology and Doctoral studies in Adult Education (ABD) at Indiana University. My Goal: To apply my talents to create meaningful places to work and help individuals live up to their potential. Managing Partner Implemented a successful consulting business focused on performance improvement, leadership development, and strategic planning largely in the non-profit community. My projects have led to improved productivity, creation of new services, successful building programs, and improved staff effectiveness. Frequent speaker at national/ international conferences. Guest lecturer on leadership at Dominican University’s Graduate School of Library and Information Sciences. Adjunct professor of Psychology at Art Institute of Illinois • Created innovative strategic direction setting process used by more than 40 organizations. Resulted in high levels of community engagement, referendums being passed, facilities being built, new funding streams and enhanced community/staff engagement. • Designed and delivered 50 in-service training programs to organizations in 6 states. Programs frequently led to improved processes and communication, clarity of direction, better customer service and enhanced employee satisfaction. • Created first statewide leadership curriculum for Indiana Librarians. Program sponsored by three organizations. Conducted web-based assessment of needs. Produced measurable results and successful library projects. • Designed and facilitated the first ever statewide continuing education summit for the Tennessee State Library, all regional library systems, universities, and major public libraries. Resulted in a plan that was funded, staffed and successfully implemented. • Designed and implemented a program evaluation process as well as serving as a featured presenter for the Illinois Institute for School and Public Librarians since 2003. More than 500 successful participants in the program. • Provided conflict engagement coaching, workshops and consulting services to more than ten organizations resulting in the successful ethical resolution of complex issues.
I taught a variety of classes in the General Education curriculum. The classes are designed to build their skills and awareness as future design professionals as they transition to a rapidly changing world. I created a new leadership class for the university as well as frequently contibute to faculty development inititiatives. Currently I am teaching Capstone classes to help students transition to professional postions and reflect on their experiences at ILIS.
I responsible for visitor engagement and outreach, membership processes, and integration of current members into the life of the congregation. This is new position with some grant funding. .
Responsible for designing and implementing complex organizational change initiatives at both corporate and division levels. Led project teams and mentored entry-level professionals. Assisted the 360-degree feedback process, succession planning, culture change, and leadership development projects. • Responsibilities included leading long-term project teams to deliver organization effectiveness, TQM, and change management services to member companies. Designed and delivered innovative seminars and customized training products. Supervised clerical, technical support and entry level professionals. Marketed organization to Fortune 500 clients. • Action: Program manager and lead consultant for an innovative three-year multi-company White Collar TQM project with Chevron, JR. Simplot, and the Bureau of Reclamation. Created new TQM workbooks. Results: All of the participant projects won internal quality awards. • Action: Designed and implemented high performing teams and quality improvement seminars. Results: Consistently high ratings and long-term client relationships.
