Reprocessing a failed start up of an automated site, up skilling staff to understand new automation, designing and defining new operating procedures in turn seeing a 125% upturn in productivity and throughput in a 3 week period.
Reporting to the COO my role scope covered : Securing a facility that could hold 250,000 skus Securing and managing the conveyor and racking business through appropriate RFQ tender process and project managing the build out. Fulfillment Centre Design. Full recruitment and on-boarding for all positions for this new start up venture Active participation with the IT teams to build a WMS system that was original and tailor made for all functions within the business. Training full teams to really understand the eCommerce service demands - To stand out and have an owners mentality. Full P&L accountability Defined SLA's and created SOP's to ensure efficiency and quality were at the fore front of what we did. Fully engage cross functionally with all department heads and plan winning tactics. Successfully go - live and launch the business. The Key Achievement was the successful launch of this business within a year window which was delivered amongst many other integral milestones that ensured this positive outcome.
Reporting to the divisional CEO my role included the following scope : • Overseeing the performance of the Logistics/ Supply Chain/ eCommerce operations and coordinating all matters relating to stock distribution and the maintenance of proper inventory levels. • Managing, implementing and monitoring service standards and working on creating a strong customer service focus culture among the workforce. • Coordinating, monitoring and ensuring compliance with contractual agreements with vendors. • Developing and implementing policies and procedures whilst keeping abreast of new and changing techniques in the industry. • Determining fiscal requirements and preparing budgetary recommendations. • Monitoring expense and loss control and verifying/reconciling the expenditure of budgeted funds. Key Achievements included Sourcing a fit for purpose fulfillment centre that would enable a speedier service to the customer and in turn reduce road miles, transport costs etc. The art of closing one facility whilst launching a new one without losing sales was a highlight as we created a satellite solution that enabled service to be sustained whilst relocating product.
