In my time at igloo I worked across a variety of projects in igloo's portfolio, gaining experience of working with many project teams, and overcoming project challenges. At igloo my main role involved: Project Set Up and Appointments - Ensuring projects were established in the right way with project teams properly appointed on clear and agreed scopes. Budget Setting and Management - Establishing working budgets for each stage, and monitoring cost movement against them. Recording project expenditure and advising on cost movement against forecast budgets. Contractor Procurement - Working with the project team to identify the best procurement route, and successfully carry out the procurement process to reach an agreed contract price and programme. This included fully defined risk apportionment and appropriate management. Construction Delivery - Overseeing the delivery of our construction projects from start on site to completion, including monitoring changes against the contract sum, and approved project budget. Client Reporting - Regularly providing update reports, both verbally and written, to clients on progress and costs. At igloo I worked on the following projects: The Malings, Newcastle - Carillion igloo This housing regeneration scheme saw the construction of 76 new build homes and 3 commercial units on the bank of the Ouseburn river. Kipling Garages, Southwark London - Leathermarket Community Benefit Society Development of 27 genuinely affordable rental homes for the community led client. Ironworks, Leeds - Igloo Regeneration 72 residential units and 2 commercial units at The Round Foundry in Leeds. Public Open Space and Dockside Walkway, Porth Teigr Cardiff - Igloo Regeneration Lower Steenbergs Yard, Newcastle - Carillion igloo Somerleyton Road, Lambeth London - London Borough of Lambeth Residential Phase 1, Porth Teigr Cardiff - Igloo Regeneration
I joined Davis Langdon as a Graduate Project Manager, rising through the grades to Senior Project Manager. During my time here I was nominated to be an employee rep on DL's National Employee Forum, and a member of the Emerging Leaders programme Projects I worked on included: Combe Down Stone Mines - Bath and North East Somerset Stabilisation of the old stone mines at Combe Down, Bath. My role was varied, with principle tasks including programme reviews, client reporting, quantities monitoring, contract advice, and project admin Porth Teigr Enabling Works - Igloo Regeneration Site wide remediation and ground works at the 38 acre site. My role was as Project Manager for the NEC3 ECC Option A contract, along budget and change control. Roath Lock Studios - Igloo Regeneration (General Partner) Development of the 170,000 sq ft studio, office, and editing space. I was the assistant project manager for the scheme from Stage D design through to Completion. Main roles included procurement of a main contractor through a restricted OJEU process, administration of the JCT Design and Build Contract, change control, project administration, and programme reviews / updates. Cheltenham Art Gallery and Museum - Cheltenham Borough Council Demolition, new build extension, and office refurbishment of the Art Gallery and Museum. Existing staff and collections within the area were relocated to allow the works to take place. My role was as Project Manager during the construction stage overseeing progress, programme updates, change control, budget reporting, and regular updates to the client. Bay Campus Phase 1 - Swansea University The university's new Bay Campus on the 68 acre former BP site. My role was as part of the technical team for the University during the Competitive Dialogue process to select a development partner. This included stakeholder liaison, technical queries, design engagement, and client reporting.
