Most engineering leaders specialize. I integrate. Twenty-five+ years in games, shipped through every major platform shift the industry has gone through: console, MMO, mobile, web, social, web3, and now AI. Started as a rendering programmer on Final Fantasy VII at Square Enix. Most recently solo-architected an AI-native 3D world platform on Unity, end-to-end, in six weeks. What I have shipped along the way: • Niantic: Led the development of a game publishing platform on GCP and Kubernetes, becoming the foundation for Monster Hunter Now ($40M+/month), NBA All-World, and Niantic's partner AR slate. Managed 20 engineers plus all game-studio Tech Directors. • Shanda Games: CTO of the company's $1B+ MMO portfolio across 1,000+ people in five studios. Directed The Legend of Mir; Launched World Zero --a MMO UGC platform. • Haymaker Games: Founded and exited. Scaled to 350 people across Shanghai, Hong Kong and Vietnam. Raised $25M. Produced The Master, The Flying Sword on Mobile and The Walker, winner of Sony's Star of China Award for VR innovation. • Hooyah: Founded and exit in 2025. Shipped Let's Rumble (3D PvP RPG, 100K+ Telegram users) and Club Time. • Tencent: Built the company's first internal MMO engine. Managed a 400-person development center. • AAA Console Era: Technical Director credits at Activision, Disney, The Collective, LucasArts, and Square Enix on Call of Duty 3 (Best Xbox 360 Look of the year), Star Wars Episode III, Toy Story III, Epic Mickey, Spider-Man 3, Tony Hawk's Project 8, Kung Fu Panda, and Final Fantasy VII. In a world where AI is reshaping how games get made, the rare skill is integration across the stack: engine, backend, cloud, AI. That is where I live. Today: solo-building Zoyah, an AI-native 3D game world on Unity. Connect: [email protected]
Building a self-evolving world powered by AI, automation, and player creativity. I founded Hooyah to reimagine how people play and connect. We started in Web3 — building a platform that unified esports and online gaming into one social experience for millions of players and creators. Along the way, we shipped: • Let's Rumble — midcore 3D PvP RPG on Telegram • Club Time — 3D avatar-based virtual world Today, Hooyah is evolving. The next chapter is AI-native: worlds that generate, adapt, and grow with the players inside them. Less about tokens, more about intelligence — where automation handles the heavy lifting and player creativity drives what gets built.
Joined Xsolla as SVP, Game Development during acquisition talks with Hooyah, leading game-development strategy and integration planning for the combined web3 game chain ecosystem. • Worked directly with the CEO on gaming-side M&A strategy: identifying and evaluating game studios and technologies for acquisition, negotiating terms, and assessing strategic fit. • Concluded the role at the close of integration in December 2025.
Led technology and pipeline development for Niantic's global game publishing platform, supporting live-service AR titles operating at planetary scale. • Directed platform engineering, DevOps, infrastructure, and CI/CD for high-availability global services • Supported the AR technology framework underpinning scalable real-world experiences across Niantic's portfolio • Partnered with first-party and external studios to optimize platform integration for live-service AR titles, including Pokémon GO, Monster Hunter Now, and NBA All-World • Contributed to scaling Monster Hunter Now to $30M+ in monthly revenue through platform optimization and live-service systems
Advised executive and engineering teams on gaming and platform strategy. Helped the platform reach over 200 million registered users. Contributed to the foundation and product vision of the Snap H5 Game Platform. Supported technical alignment between platform capabilities and third-party developer integration.
Founded and scaled a multi-platform game studio to 300+ employees across Shanghai and Southeast Asia, building the company from the ground up into a full-stack developer, publisher, and live-operations organization. • Launched multiple successful mobile titles — Monkey King 3D, The Master, and Flying Sword — generating $100M+ in annual revenue • Produced the award-winning VR title The Walker, recipient of Sony's Star of China award for excellence in VR innovation • Established scalable production pipelines, backend infrastructure, and live-service systems across the studio's portfolio • Built the publishing organization and live-ops capability from zero, supporting sustained growth across mobile and emerging platforms
