I worked in the Neurogenetics branch, Inherited Movement Disorders Unit to examine whole genome sequencing and microarray data of Parkinson's Disease patients admitted to the NIH clinical center to learn more about rare pathogenic variants of Parkinson's risk genes.
Conducted research into the role of Polo-like kinase 2 and its role in mediating the phosphorylation, aggregation, and propagation of tau in Alzheimer's disease pathology. Prepared primary hippocampal cultures. Conducted western blots and immunocytochemistry with fluorescent microscopy.
I am responsible for the safety and well-being of 30-40 residents on a floor of a college residence hall. I address various complaints and issues ranging from student code of conduct violations to roommate conflict de-escalation. I also plan and coordinate building-wide social programs, while managing a semesterly budget.
