As a hydraulic Engineer at SUEZ’s R&D center Le LyRE, I provide technical support in France and abroad on pumping systems and water networks, both in steady and transient flow state, for drinking and wastewater. Backed by 5 years of experience supporting field operations, I started as a lead hydraulic engineer for the interconnected drinking water network in the South Paris Metropolitan area, a position I held for 2 years. My background includes hydraulic modeling, transient field recordings, as well as on-site corrective adjustment of electrical and hydraulic equipment to mitigate water hammer effects.
𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 (𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐖𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫) : ➥ Pumping expertise: design validation, revamping to achieve regulatory compliance, troubleshooting of operational issues, energy audits, and support during commissioning of new installations. ➥ Transient flow expertise: instrumentation, recorded field testing, check valve slam studies, and modeling for sizing, verifying, or correcting surge protection systems (using Cebelmail, Pendulo). ➥ Field support: on-site compliance inspections (H&S), maintenance assistance, setup of soft starters and frequency drives, and tuning of control valve operations. ➥ Preparation of technical and commercial proposals and presentation to internal and external clients. 𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 : ➥ Regulatory and technical watch in the fields of pumping and network design (ANSI, HI, API, Public Procurement, SNECOREP, AWWA, IEC, ASME, AFNOR, ISO, CEN, etc.). ➥ Development of educational technical sheets for operators, explaining recurring operational issues and best practices for maintenance and system management. ➥ Drafting and validation of specifications for surge vessel renewals in support of the Group’s procurement department. ➥ Training and knowledge transfer for operators and engineers supporting field operations. 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 : ➥ Oversight, coordination, and steering of a €250k technical convention. ➥ Collection and prioritization of technical topics and budget allocations. ➥ Monitoring progress of funded initiatives. ➥ Ensuring budget compliance and financial closeout in line with forecasts.
I conducted the hydraulic studies for six operational agencies and provided support to the wholesale provider Eau du Sud Parisien (ESP) for the operation and management of the interconnected transmission network in South Paris Metropolitan area, along with its associated distribution systems (~6,000 km and 1.45 million users). I designed and operated hydraulic models to diagnose and optimize existing networks, assess the impact of altered or degraded hydraulic configurations, and size new network structures. I was in charge of asset renewal studies and led projects encompassing design, implementation, and field supervision. I was also involved in crisis management and responses to operational incidents observed on the networks. 𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 : ➥ Identification and mitigation of water hammer issues in the Southern Île-de-France potable water network. ➥ Study, implementation, and field follow-up of a contractual project to stabilize pressures in a distribution network. ➥ Hydraulic analysis and modeling of strategic pipeline shutdowns (transmission mains, water tanks, and production plants) to support maintenance, repair, and renewal operations. ➥ Development, implementation, and monitoring of a flushing plan during a crisis response following contamination in a drinking water network.
I supported the lead project engineer in addressing the growing demands of network operators and carrying out targeted projects aligned with regional priorities. My responsibilities included developing and maintaining sizing tools, as well as creating methods to estimate water demand. I built hydraulic models to support both day-to-day operations and new infrastructure projects. I also conducted asset management studies, sizing analyses, planned service interruptions, and DMA plans. In several cases, I delivered projects from end-to-end, overseeing both technical development and field implementation. 𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 : ➥ Pilot Deployment of Pressure Sensors (128 Hz) over 2,000 km of Network □ Developed a method to measure, analyze, and reduce transient events across the Southern Île-de- France drinking water network. □ Surge protection study for a pumping station supplying a critical customer. □ Preparation of transient flow models, including data collection, verification, and reliability checks. ➥ Development of a Contractual Hydraulic Model □ Conducted field measurement campaigns, calibration, and network analysis. □ Verified local regulatory and contractual hydraulic compliance. ➥ "Securing the drinking Water Supply in Southern Île-de-France" □ Created a tool to categorize and prioritize sensitive points in the drinking water network. □ Produced a criticality map and proposed reinforcement works during the pre-study phase.
