I have always had a passionate interest in technology, this carried on when I was able to start my apprenticeship at the local power station where I started to learn more about the electrical industry. I continued on as an Electrical Trade Skilled Worker finding I just wanted to continue to learn about the electrical industry, so I started my Diploma in ESI learning about the generation, distribution and protection systems. Electronics is starting to become a passion outside of work and would like be able to make a career out of electronics one day.
Operator of solar boiler, steam turbine Electrical maintenance on freq drives, motorised valves, conveying system, packing and palletising equipment, automatic driven vehicles fault finding on electrical equipment, communication equipment, plc diagnostics, instrumentation for boiler system and water treatment plant
In this role: Carry out maintenance on electrical equipment: Electrical control circuits, electrically driven actuators, pneumatically driven actuators, circuit breakers, transformers, motors, generators Associated plant - conveyors, valves, dampers, pumps, fans, lifts, cranes, lighting Experience with Repairs & Maintenance on High Voltage Equipment - 275kV Transformers, 132kV Transformers/Circuit Breakers/Isolators, 18kV Generators/Transformers/Circuit Breakers/Isolators, 6.6kV Transformers/Motors, 3.3kV Transformers/Motors Electrical Protection Carrying out routine testing of protection relays for High Voltage transformers, motors, generators, boards & line protection. Testing older mechanical relays to installation & commissioning of new protection relays. I&C Repairs and calibration of temperature devices (RTD’s & Thermocouples), flow devices (differential pressure transmitters, turbine flow meters), pressure devices (transmitters, switches, regulators) Installation/commissioning of variable speed drives, multiple input/output cards for control systems & small programmable controllers
Assist tradespeople to carry out maintenance on electrical equipment - electrically driven actuators, pneumatically driven actuators, motor control equipment, circuit breakers, isolators, transformers, motors, generators
