    In this role I was responsible for policy, communications, strategy and campaigns for the Rt Hon David Lammy, the Member of Parliament for Tottenham. My role involved: writing speeches, op-eds, statements, parliamentary questions; proactive and reactive media management for one of Westminster's most high profile MPs; as well as leading on campaigns, social media strategy and parliamentary business. I also received the first acknowledgement in David Lammy's critically acclaimed book, Tribes (2020), which states: “this book simply could not have been completed without the considerable work, tenacity and impeccable dedication of Will Heilpern”. Following David's promotion to become the Shadow Secretary of State for Justice and the Shadow Lord Chancellor, I was appointed to be his Political Advisor.

    I was an assistant to Neena Gill CBE MEP, a member of the European Parliamentary Labour Party, part of the UK delegation to the S&D Group in the European Parliament. Mrs Gill was a member of the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs, the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Vice-Chair for relations with India, and a member of the Delegation for relations with the United States. My role largely consisted of producing op-eds and speeches for Mrs Gill on a variety of topics. I continued this role remotely while completing an MSc course at the LSE.
