Development of Australia’s new working standard in AC electrical power based on a sampling technique using two synchronized digital voltmeters, high precision inductive voltage and multi-range current transformers, allowing fast, accurate and flexible calibration / reporting of reference electricity meters. Extensive experience in precision measurement and calibration of electrical equipment for power and energy (Fluke, Zera, SRS, Zimmer, Clarke-Hess, Keysight, Radian, Rotek, EP&T, Landis+Gyr, N4L). I assisted with the development of both voltage and current precision transformers and have recently assembled and calibrated a resistive voltage divider for an international customer as part of a national working standard in AC electrical power. Flashing FTDI chips for USB control-ware. Developed Visual Basic and LabVIEW code to control and interrogate instruments for calibration purposes. 3D printing of electronic instrument parts and Raspberry Pi plus Arduino prototyping / development. Development of a new working standard in electricity for low-frequency power. Testing and calibration of next-generation electricity and phase meters, power analyzers. Superconducting chip measurement for NMI’s pulse-driven Josephson voltage standard. Writing test methods, development of code and implementation of software validations. Using Arduino / Raspberry Pi based hard / software for controlling electronics in the lab. Performed AC-DC transfers of our Digital Power Comparator (DPC) against Holt standard. Presented a technical seminar on the new working standard in electrical power at NMI. Performed laboratory safety inspections and followed several NMIA training courses.
