I founded Bat For a Chance 6 years ago at the age of 14, we are a rapidly growing charity which is all about using cricket through entrepreneurial methods to create social change around the world. We use our equipment recycling program to help break down barriers preventing access to sport, through this we are impacting lives and communities globally and locally. Creating a unique network of projects and partners. We then leverage this network through our funding programs to use cricket as a tool for communities to engage on topics and learn new skills which align with 1 or more of the UN Social Development Goals. To date we have funded 2 of these programs: setting up the first ever grass roots girls cricket clubs in the Caribbean with the IPL Franchise Rajasthan Royals and a free bat refurbishment unit teaching basic carpentry skills to local children in Sri Lanka. With a third set to launch in the start of the new year helping to tackle unemployment rates in townships across South Africa.
