Innovation and R&D develops and deploys technologies and services to deliver projects and new products across the world faster and more economically. Performance and risk management, cost leadership, investment decisions and finance support to the 5 technology sites are key focus areas of my role as Finance MT member of the 6 R&D departments ranging in scope from 100 - 400 FTEs and annual spend in between $50 - 300M. I oversee all business control and FP&A activities and am hold responsible for all financial control activities which are supported by a service center. Furthermore I am actively involved to optimize the finance support model and capability building within the Finance organization to become a better business partner. Managed a team of 12 FTEs and lead European/Dutch subsidy desk.
Projects organization delivers large & complex projects in both Upstream and Downstream (> 3000+ FTEs and Capex > $ 15B). Global responsibility for all business and financial control aspects for Project organization like: performance and risk management, planning & appraisal and project control. Key activities: Benchmarking, productivity, cost management, budget cycles and resource management. Led migration of financial control activities to shared service center. Managed a team of 11 FTEs.
Shells Downstream organization sells fuels, lubricants, bitumen and sulphur to other businesses (B2B). Design and implementation of a simplified contracting progress to reduce cost and increase value and speed. Key activities: Roll out of new process to > 3000 FTEs (Sales and Finance) to enhance contract knowledge; optimization contract portfolio through KPI setting and performance management reviews; implementing contracting strategies and justification investment in a contract lifecycle management IT solution. Global Controller for Marine Lubricants organization from 2012 onwards with focus on business control supported by 2 team members and support from service center for all financial control aspects. Key activities: update of control framework; program to reduce offtakes without contract; initiative to mitigate price optimization by customers between different ports; planning and appraisal and month/year end close.
ExxonMobil is a 25% shareholder of GasTerra, at that time 2nd largest European gas supplier. Influence GasTerra and other shareholders (Dutch state & Shell) in line with ExxonMobil sales & purchase strategies and advise the CEO of Benelux who is delegated supervisory board member of GasTerra. Key activities: Negotiated reduction of the domestic purchase price GasTerra under a public service obligation is obliged to buy from third parties, promoted development of liquid hub in the Netherlands (TTF) and supported price renegotiation strategy for long term export sales contracts.
Gas & Power Marketing is ExxonMobils global divisions overlooking all gas and power related sales and purchases. Regional responsbility to support optimization of the natural gas liquids production/manufacturing in Europe. Key achievements: wet gas processing flexibility opportunities yielded $30M credit - successfully negotiated with Statoil the evacuation of wet Norwegian equity gas using idle transportation capacity - secured Ethane for FiFe Ethylene Plant as part of feedstock shortfall mitigation plan.
Lubricants is a class of business with Downstream. Send to Germany as part of exange program for graduates. Initially worked as senior marketing analyst supporting marketing strategies for Central Eastern Europe and enhance deal evaluation methodology for lubricants investment deals. As a result of merger Exxon and Mobil at that time I led ERP implementation for Customer Service Center Central Europe for Mobil organization.
Arther Andersen (now Deloitte) was a professional service provider offering Tax, audit and consulting services. As tax lawyer I advised on corporate income tax and transfer pricing.
