Experienced leader, change manager and integrator with demonstrated contributions to the Energy industry and Carbon Management. From leadership roles and external collaborations during my Shell career I have a thorough appreciation of Climate Change Strategy and Energy Transition on both project and portfolio level and the Carbon Capture and Storage, electrification and hydrogen industrial decarbonisation technologies. I make impact in new and unfamiliar roles and rapidly address key issues in complex problems. I am a natural integrator with attention to positions of all stakeholders and I have the ability to deliver outcomes for complex, multidisciplinary projects and portfolios and through coaching and empowering teams.
- Provides strategic carbon removal (CDR) and reductions advisory services to clients, to support the realization of their 2030 climate and decarbonization commitments - Due diligence and assurance of CDR deployment projects and investments into CDR technologies - Supports Voluntary and regulated Carbon Removal Market developments for higher quality projects and credits for engineered and nature based solutions, amongst others EU Sustainable Carbon Cycles
- Co-ordinated delivery of technical feasible (Sc. 1&2 and 1,2&3) industrial sector Net Zero Emissions blueprints. With the potential, techno-economics, integration, infrastructure and development gaps of pervasive decarbonization technologies: CCS, Electrification, (blue or green) hydrogen and biomass for current hydrocarbon and future “Net Zero Carbon” production and products. - Initiated, set the strategy and upon EVP endorsement shaped and delivered the change management initiative for full application of Carbon Competitiveness for the front end development and execution of Shell’s Major capital projects and the integration into Shell’s core project management work processes (>15 bil$/a capital spend & ~3 mtpa avoided CO2e). - Supported, reviewed and assured the Carbon & Energy management strategies and practical improvement plans of projects and assets as Carbon & Energy management Technical Authority, including the evaluations and application of Best Available Carbon and Energy Reduction Technologies. With accountability for their development, communication and application . - Shared, as subject matter expert, good Carbon management practices and experiences and worked improvement areas globally across our lines of business as member of the small Shells global risk support team for embedding GHG and energy management. - Supported bid submissions to the first call of the EU Climate Action Innovation Fund with projects and portfolio review and as Technical expert to the EU DG CLIMA workshops. - Shaped IOGP’s low carbon Engineering agenda on standardization and sharing of best practices as member of the IOGP Engineering Leadership Team Low Carbon workgroup.
Member of Shells global risk support team for embedding GHG and energy management, a network of subject-matter experts in GHG topics working globally across our lines of business for defining improvement areas and sharing good practices and experience.
o Manager for the portfolio of Shell Commercial Scale CCS demonstration project opportunities and collaborated with (partner) project teams on the development and execution of the now operational Quest CCS facility (Alberta Canada), 5mt CO2 to date, Boundary Dam CCS (Saskatchewan, Canada) 3,7 mt CO2 to date, TCM Mongstad (Norway), etc. o Contributed to several external Joint Industry Partnerships and public/private collaborations to develop and progress the CCS industry and markets. o Executed the CCS capability program to capture, consolidate and communicate the specific required surface and subsurface competencies and capabilities o Maintained and updated the consolidation of the techno-economics of CCS for different low carbon products and negative emissions and their position in Net Zero Integrated Assessment scenarios. o Member of technical committee of Technology Centre Mongstad, Front End Project manager for ~340 MW low carbon gas CCGT power with CCS plant, technical reviewer and value assurance of CCS projects.
