• Support the full implementation of the project EH&S Plan. • Actively promote the development of a ‘Total Safety Culture’ and provide support during the implementation of all related (leadership) activities. • CM/EPC responsibilities for Contractor(s) performing activities in area of responsibility. • Demonstrate strong leadership at all times throughout the project phases. • Act as a coach, both for the assigned EH&S team and for Contractors. • Coordinate with Contractors to ensure Approval to Mobilize and HAZIDs work activities in accountable area are completed in a timely manner. • Ensure Contractors EH&S programs and safe work practices are reviewed and monitored on an ongoing basis. • Review and comment on Risk Assessments, Job Safety Analysis and Method Statements for all work activities in the accountable area to ensure accuracy and validity of the same. • Ensure EH&S information/expertise is provided to the site team when solicited to ensure compliance to AIR PRODUCTS standards and local laws. • Actively participate in and lead safety promotion events, campaigns, competitions, established programs. • Provide leadership to ensure prompt prioritization and coordination of all unforeseen issues at the site, escalating to the AIR PRODUCTS EH&S Manager / Area Construction Manager as required . • Support the implementation of the Project Emergency Response Plan and review Rescue Plans within accountable area. • Cooperate closely with area construction management, project security manager, medical team and contractor organizations.
Health and Safety Manager Oilmin Field Services; EFB 21 (Oilmin ExxonMobil) land seismic project in Papua New Guinea. • Safely assisted with the processing and compilation of all documents associated with the implementation of the OMHL HSSE Management System. • Ensure there is an effective company policy for health and safety and that all employees, contractors and temporary workers are made aware of their individual responsibility. • Management of health and safety in a diverse and large workforce of around 1000 personnel in a land seismic operation. • Coaching and mentoring of field based HSE Supervisors to ensure safety is incorporated within work activities. • Incident investigation using the ICAM process. • Ensured provision for adequate and appropriate safety training to be given to all employees. • To ensure that notification and reporting procedures to the relevant statutory authorities are carried out, including the primary client. • Conduct Risk Assessments throughout all facets of the organization. • Provide written instructions of work methods outlining potential hazards and precautions, and ensure they are complied with. • Ensure accident and near-miss reporting procedures are understood and complied with. • Ensure all employees and sub-contractors are suitably trained/competent to carry out the prescribed task and that the necessary licenses/certificates of competence are in force and appropriate. • Audit effectiveness of training especially regarding high-risk operations such as tree felling, drilling and camp construction. • Manage the permit to work process and ensure compliance. • Compile daily, weekly, and monthly detailed reports regarding health and safety. • Compile management of change (MOC) documentation when required in consultation with senior leadership and client representatives. • Ensure the organization remain a learning organization through review and communication / consultation of accident and near miss outcomes.
