Weng has over 40 years of leadership experience in the IT and Financial Services industry. He has held senior management positions with major insurance organizations such as AIA, Prudential, Aviva and Great Eastern Life, as well as Information Technology vendors at DXC (formerly Computer Sciences Corporation) and Policy Management System. Under his leadership as the CTO, AIA Singapore successfully launched an award-winning, industry-first interactive Point of Sales system on the iPad. This initiative put both AIA and Singapore in the global spotlight by winning multiple innovation awards. Another award-winning initiative was Digital Underwriting for instant electronic underwriting of applications submitted. He was a founding member of the Insurance Standing Committee on Cyber Security, a committee set up by the Monetary Authority of Singapore. Weng chaired this committee from 2016 to 2018. Weng has led various complex and large-scale projects. Included amongst these are major M&A integration at AIA Australia and AIA New Zealand, and the roll-out of Aviva’s agency distribution channel. He also managed Prudential’s IT and Ops shared-services hub where he was the GM and a board director. With his extensive experience, strategic leadership and deep knowledge of IT and Operations areas such as Innovation and Transformation, Cyber Security, Technology Risks, Data Analytics, AI and Big Data, Weng will be an invaluable addition to any board. Weng was conferred DISTINGUISHED FELLOW of the Singapore Institute of Banking and Finance (IBF) in 2018 for his demonstration of mastery of the Technology profession, thought leadership and his commitment to industry development in Singapore and is a Singapore Institute of Directors (SID) ACCREDITED DIRECTOR. He graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Computer Science) degree from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Australia.
