About

I've been in your ears for years. BBC Radio 1, Virgin Radio, LBC, Talk Radio, Radio Luxembourg. One of few female DJs of the 90s, I've presented live to millions, interviewed big names including Tom Hanks and J-Lo, co-hosted with HRH Prince Edward, and presented Top of the Pops with Robbie Williams The voice of BBC2's Great British Menu for 9 years, I remain a top UK voiceover artist. I've also done stand-up comedy and the Edinburgh Festival - while wrestling with panic attacks. Fear was my dirty little secret, but when I got the right help everything changed. Here's what I know. You don't need more information or 'inspirational' social media videos to embody real confidence and take charge of your life. You need to be shown your personal blocks and your UNIQUE way past them. No generic advice or frameworks for a so-called perfect life. You need YOUR pathway so that your next step becomes so clear it's not a decision - it's undeniable and beautifully simple. That's what I do - in two distinct ways. — FOR SPEAKERS — Every day, public speaking anxiety is costing careers, silencing brilliant voices and killing great ideas. For women, the stakes are higher: more scrutiny, less margin for error. I know this personally. I fix it professionally. Using my expertise from four decades in broadcasting and having overcome serious speaking fear myself, I'll get you to confident, compelling, broadcast-level speaking. Not surface level confidence, REAL confidence that holds up under pressure. I work with individuals and organisations to calm overwhelmed nervous systems, build authority and presence, and unlock untapped brilliance - so businesses don't just get better speakers. They get better thinking, better decisions, and a culture where the best ideas get heard. — FOR MIDLIFE WOMEN — When life knocks your confidence you need more than generic advice or struggling alone. Other people's frameworks or definitions of success? Other people's idea of what a 'woman your age' should want? Not helping - is it? What you actually need is a mirror held up to who you truly are. What's driving you, what you actually want under all the noise. Then, someone translating it and unravelling the mechanisms so that your next move becomes blindingly obvious. Beyond the survival patterns you've outgrown. Beyond the limitations you've never thought to question - they all need to go so you can turn midlife mayhem into a life you get to design. That fits you like it was made for you. Because it will be. This is what I do. Book a call via wendylloyd.com or DM me here

My work is embodied and powerful - and it works. Get in touch to find out more. ------- Public Speaking You shouldn't be struggling with Public Speaking alone - as I know only too well. With decades of experience as a TV and Radio presenter and speaker, I battled through horrendous speaking anxiety before I finally got the help I needed. Now that I can finally enjoy and utilise the fullness of my speaking ability and skills, I'm determined to change the assumptions we have about public speaking that keep people silent. Like: You can either do it or you can't. Your nervous system can either handle it, or it can't. Push on through and you'll soon get over it Because we're missing out on way too many great ideas and insights from those who have no choice but to stay silent - until now. If you're an organisation wanting to supercharge the ideas and value you harness from your teams, or you're an individual wanted to be coached into speaking confidence - get in touch. It's what I do.

  • Podcast Host and Producer at Open To Criticism
    Mar 2023 - Present · 3 yrs 5 mos

Inequalities in film and its criticism matter because how we talk about movies and WHO gets to do it determines what has cultural value. It therefore impacts which films and stories get appreciated and therefore funded. Nominated twice for the Independent Podcast Awards 2023, and twice again in 2024. Open to Criticism features film critics, cultural commentators, and academics. The production showcases my considerable research, interviewing, and production skills amassed over my illustrious career. This podcast is the result of academic research I carried out for my MSc in Cultural Inequalities at the London School of Economics, my 30 year career as a film critic, and my expertise as an audio and broadcast professional. Season 2 was released March 2024.

  • BBC (31 yrs 4 mos)
    • Film Critic
      May 1995 - Present · 31 yrs 3 mos

From co-hosting the Radio 1 film show Cling film back in the mid-90s, to regularly contributing to the BBC Radio Scotland Afternoon show since 1999, I'm an established voice of film and cultural critique with my witty but theoretically informed opinions. I became a critic to challenge the white old boys club of the profession. It's been my mission ever since to champion marginalised voices and stories and challenge assumptions about whose stories matter adn whose don't. Because how culture represents us and how we see ourselves in it connects directly to the power that we have - or don't.
