I have a great passion for interdisciplinary research on minority health disparities, stress and coping, emotion, genomics, autism spectrum disorders, and cancer prevention. I earned my B.S. and M.A. in Psychology from San José State University and completed my Ph.D. in Psychology with a focus in Health Psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2017. Following my doctorate, I spent two years as a postdoctoral research associate at Texas A&M University, where I conducted multidisciplinary research and managed a cancer genomics training program. In 2019, I joined the University of Texas Permian Basin with a Rising STAR faculty grant awarded by the University of Texas System, where I now serve as an Associate Professor of Psychology.
