Product Lead Engineer for Optem, a leading range of catalogue product for machine vision system and customised solution with track record of customer satisfaction, Optem being selected as first choice for New Product design-in. Develop new or improve existing Processes for the assembly build to achieve a reasonable sustainable yield in Production. Support the Planning Team to review a realistic build schedule for the assembly operation of existing products. Engineering team coordinator for Flatwork (Flat Optics) consisting of a 3-man team driving New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, technical support to Product enquiry and production activities. Establishing detailed Engineering parameters and routing requirements for charting the migration of system (Oracle to SAP) including Manufacturing, Scheduling, Capacity Planning and Cost Structure to facilitate the accurate use of ERP functions of SAP. Conduct training such as Basic Plano Optics Fabrication to non-engineering stakeholders and CNC Programming to fellow Engineers.
Refine research specification into manufacturing specification and establish process control parameters for critical components of a novel endoscope fibre optics probe capable of providing real time diagnostic result of diseased cell. Provide technical support for Design FMEA ensuring the risks are mitigated and support engineering team in the design of jigs and fixtures for design verification and validation tests. Assess the capabilities of vendors to support production goals in order to establish supply chain for the development activities.
Design jig and fixtures to support component manufacturing of optical components such as Lenses, Prisms and Windows. Specialize in the manufacturing processes of Truncated Lenses and Prisms (For example Corner Cube, Integrator Rod, Amici Prism and Penta Roof Prism etc.) and bonding of complex optical assembly such as Porro Prism Assembly. Conduct and drive manufacturing feasibility studies to reduce cost and wastes - Achieve cost savings of approximate SGD 100,000 per year for an existing product (Integrator Rod) by reducing cost of raw material, redesigning processes, optimizing coating run size and reducing lead time through innovative design of jigs and fixtures. Proficient in various Optical Metrology equipment such as Zygo Interferometer, Moller Wedel’s Goniometer and Nikon Autocollimator and Mechanical Metrology equipments such as Profile Projector, Travelling Microscope & Hexagon (Brown & Sharpe) Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM). Proficient in CNC Programming on Heidenhain iTNC 530 Control for Truncation of Lenses and Prisms.
