Wayne has more than 20 years’ experience covering operational, technical and managerial roles. Wayne has held senior technical and operational roles at a number of significant international mining operations. Wayne has contributed to and led major scoping, prefeasibility and feasibility studies, strategic optimization projects, technical reviews and due diligence. He has strong site-based experience in mine planning, drill-and-blast optimization, and mine-to-mill process optimization. Wayne completed a Bachelor of Mining Engineering at the University of Western Australia in 2005. Completed a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degree at the Sustainable Minerals Institute (SMI), University of Queensland, Australia in 2014. Wayne has published a number of technical papers in the field of drill and blast optimization in international peer reviewed journals. Wayne is a Registered Professional Engineer with the Engineers & Geoscientists of BC, has a Quarry Managers Certificate (WA), and a Certificate 4 in Frontline Management.
My roles at BIM include providing technical and operational input into mine plans, production reporting and analysis, operational budgeting, forecasting, and mine designs.
My roles at PanAust included medium term mine planning, mine designs and budget schedules. I am a competent user of MineSched and Surpac. I was also the technical lead in all aspects of Phu Kham drill and blast, including mine to mill optimization and hard ore management.
