Over the last 27 years, I have managed bulk fuel operations and logistics with leading energy companies including BP and SKA Petrochemicals. In the UK, I controlled two fuel farms with 28.6 million litres of fuel on behalf of BP, managed major IFR and full tank facility refurbishment projects, and led site training for Logan Air Refilling Systems. In 2018, I joined SKA as Terminal Operations Manager at the Al Faw Refinery in Iraq where I oversee multiple petrochemical plants, ensuring compliance, safety, efficiency, and profitability. I have successfully managed and delivered several large-scale projects, such as expanding the storage capabilities, optimising the loading and unloading processes, and implementing new technologies. I have also contributed to the development and implementation of the company's strategic and operational plans, aligning them with the global and regional market trends and customer needs. Maximising safety, efficiency and profitability by managing the operational, maintenance and general activities at the Al Faw Refinery in Iraq, in compliance with SKA policies and procedures. • Embedded industry best practices in line with HSE Oil & Gas Standards and ISO 9001, assured compliance, and instigated PTW for all contractor tasks. • Deputised for the General Manager and led the Assistant Operations Manager, Control Room Operators, Security Supervisor and other on-site functions. • Managed two major projects: $1million internal floating roof storage tank conversion project and the pipeline header extension project. • Transformed safety performance by best in class safety practices for all activities. • Optimised the management of risk and emergency response by introducing evacuation procedures, monthly meetings, and daily intelligence updates. • Drove service excellence and optimised client relationships by initiating meet and greet conferences and setting up on-site demonstrations. • Saved significant costs after introducing a new vehicle usage policy and re-negotiating the cost of PPE. • Improved maintenance KPI performance, reduced breakdowns and minimised business impact of any defects.
