As an Awards Officer for the 2025–26 Watersprite Film Festival, I help honour emerging voices in global student cinema through the coordination of award categories, jury communication, and submission evaluation. My role lies at the intersection of creativity and structure — ensuring the integrity of the judging process while celebrating the art of storytelling across cultures and disciplines. Collaborating with producers, filmmakers, and international jurors, I contribute to upholding Watersprite’s mission of empowering new talent and fostering artistic dialogue that transcends borders.
Served on the Executive Committee of the Chinese Students and Scholars Association (CSSA), contributing to student engagement and the organisation of major community events. As part of this role, supported the planning and delivery of the CSSA Spring Festival Gala, with particular involvement in the selection of performances and hosts/hostesses. Helped review programme items, assess stage suitability and audience appeal, and contribute to the curation of a balanced and engaging event. Worked collaboratively with the wider committee to support one of the association’s flagship cultural celebrations.
As a Laidlaw Research and Leadership Scholar, I pursue an independent research project on circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) and its role in guiding personalized cancer therapy. My work synthesizes evidence from clinical trials on ctDNA-guided treatment strategies, exploring how molecular diagnostics can inform escalation, de-escalation, and adaptive therapies to improve survival outcomes. Beyond research, I engage in the Laidlaw Leadership Programme — developing skills in ethical leadership, communication, and project management through mentorship, workshops, and service initiatives. This dual focus has strengthened both my analytical rigour and my commitment to research that makes a tangible difference in patient care and global health equity.
