Oversee a broad portfolio including Finance, Information Technology, Governance & Risk, Business Performance, and Investments. Key responsibilities include: (1) Provide leadership to the organisation as part of the Executive Leadership Team (2) Provide direction in the delivery of innovation and city transformation projects and initiatives (3) Leadership of significant business transformation projects, specifically the SAMMS Project (Strategic Asset Management and Maintenance System) (4) Provide direction for the delivery of the directorate's services (advocacy, media, marketing and events, information services, and strategic projects)
Key Responsibilities of the role: (1) Provide corporate governance advice to CEO and Directors, Mayor and Councillors (2) Best practice application of legislation to guide good decision making. (3) Extensive knowledge, understanding and effective application of Council’s meeting procedures (local laws, relevant policies, management directives and delegations of authority). (4) Extensive knowledge, understanding and effective application of legislative requirements (e.g. Local Government Act, Local Government Regulation). (5) Deliver significant corporate governance projects. (6) Lead branch in delivery of services (secretariat and legislation, administrative review and ethics, records management and councillor support). (7) Lead role in governance matters in protecting the interests of Council. (8) Lead role in managing councillor complaints, public interest disclosures and significant Right to Information (RTI) applications.
Provide leadership in corporate planning, performance and risk management to achieve consistency between the Community Plan, the Corporate Plan, Operational Plan, and corporate strategies, systems and structures.
