What is best in life? To crush a bug in your app, to see console errors driven before you, and to hear the fans of your computer whir as your application launches to glory. Jokes aside software development is fun, and working with a team to creatively solve problems is a joy and privilege. Perennial curiosity has lead me down many different paths in life from long conversations about the nature of language and mind as a student of philosophy, to why that engine keeps misfiring on hot days in my role as a mechanic. Throughout it all I've been attracted to the wonderful world of computers, where representational systems, problem solving and communication all roll into one. When Covid-19 hit the scene in 2020 I decided it was an opportunity to improve my expertise as a developer, and I am so glad I did. For the last six months I've been honing my skills as a full stack developer. Focusing on the most modern technologies I've gained proficiency in React, JavaScript, and Python based technologies such as Node, Flask, Express, SQL, Postgres, SQLAlchemy, Sequelize, Redux, Docker, and of course Git. Recently I've been playing with Conway's Game of Life, building an educational platform to get K-12 students thinking about the wonders of complexity and emergence. When I'm not coding I enjoy, hanging out and hiking with my dog Bajor, exercising, playing around on my violin, and creating fantasy worlds with my roleplaying game squad.
