I’m an engineer who enjoys getting to the heart of complex problems and turning business goals into clear, scalable technical solutions. I bring a strategic mindset to the work, grounding every decision in customer impact, long-term product direction, and what the organization needs to succeed. My focus is on building systems that are reliable, simple where they can be, and aligned with the broader goals of the business. My background spans senior engineering and executive leadership roles, which allows me to move comfortably between architecture, product strategy, and hands-on technical guidance. I help teams clarify problems, make high-quality decisions quickly, and design solutions that hold up as products and usage grow. I also enjoy mentoring engineers and contributing to a strong engineering culture where people can do their best work. I care about thoughtful architecture, clear problem definition, and strong alignment between engineering and the rest of the business. I’m always open to connecting about distributed systems, SaaS architecture, and building high-performing engineering teams.
I lead engineering, IT, and security at GUIDEcx, with a focus on building a scalable, reliable, and secure SaaS platform. I drive the company’s technical strategy, oversee platform architecture, and ensure our systems and teams can support continued growth. Key responsibilities include guiding long-term product and technical direction, strengthening our AWS-based infrastructure, and leading major modernization efforts, including the migration to our updated platform. I oversee security and compliance programs such as SOC 2 and GDPR, manage internal IT systems and governance, and ensure we maintain strong reliability and performance for our customers. I hire and develop the engineering team, elevate technical standards, and help teams make clear, business-informed technical decisions. My goal is to create a strong engineering culture and a platform that scales with the needs of our customers and the business.
As VP of Engineering, I led the transition from a contractor-driven development model to a fully in-house engineering organization. I drove our migration from Heroku to AWS, laying the groundwork for a more scalable, reliable, and enterprise-ready platform. This included modernizing our infrastructure, strengthening deployment and monitoring practices, and improving overall platform performance. I also implemented the internal controls, processes, and documentation needed for SOC 2 and broader compliance readiness. My focus was on building a strong foundation for growth: establishing engineering standards, improving development velocity, hiring and mentoring the core team, and ensuring our technology and operations could support the needs of larger customers.
I joined GUIDEcx as the first in-house engineer, responsible for understanding the full breadth of our existing stack, documenting critical system knowledge, and partnering with contractors to stabilize and extend the platform. My focus was on building a solid technical foundation while preparing the organization to transition engineering in-house. I contributed hands-on to feature development, infrastructure improvements, and early architectural decisions. I also helped establish our initial engineering processes and began recruiting the core team that would later support the company’s growth.
At Ancestry, I was part of the team responsible for the Member Profile and Messaging products, which were central to building trust and meaningful connection between Ancestry members. I helped develop and enhance features that brought together family history, DNA insights, and personal profiles into a cohesive experience. I worked closely with cross-functional partners to deliver reliable, intuitive tools that improved how users discovered and connected with relatives. I also mentored junior engineers and contributed to the team’s architectural and implementation decisions.
At PayClip, I worked as part of the team responsible for developing our merchant referral and growth features, contributing to scalable Node.js microservices, AWS Lambdas, and enhancements to our React applications. I helped strengthen engineering practices by expanding test coverage and supporting the adoption of TypeScript to improve reliability across the stack. I also collaborated with the team to build a shared React component library that improved UI consistency and sped up development. My work focused on solving technical challenges, improving maintainability, and helping the team deliver secure and scalable solutions.
At Domo, I worked across several engineering and solution-focused roles where I helped solve complex technical problems for both the platform and our customers. I designed and built custom applications, contributed to core Appstore solutions, and supported large-scale data integrations using modern web technologies. As I grew into architect and team lead positions, I guided technical design, mentored engineers, and partnered with customers and internal teams to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions. My work centered on turning challenging requirements into reliable, maintainable software that supported Domo’s growing ecosystem.
