Hello! My name is Vy (Vee) Dang and I am currently a graduate student at the UTHealth Center in Houston, pursuing a Master's degree in Biomedical Informatics. I am actively seeking a computational biologist/bioinformatics engineer position to enhance my skill set and apply my computational expertise to contribute to innovative research and advance healthcare. Experienced in NGS datasets, including RNA-seq and whole-genome sequencing. Strong computational skills in Python, R, and Bash/Linux/HPC environments with knowledge in biology. • Processed and analyzed large-scale structural simulation data on a Linux-based HPC server accessed remotely via SSH • Developed and maintained reproducible Python/Bash pipelines for structural data processing and ensemble analysis • Collaborated with PI to investigate fusion oncoprotein conformational dynamics using a deep learning-based structure prediction model, generating an ensemble of 4,000 structural models for downstream analysis • Evaluated structural variability between MDS and BioEmu using: pairwise RMSD, first-frame reference RMSD, AlphaFold predicted reference RMSD analysis • Conducting comparative analysis between MD simulation trajectories and generated structural ensembles to evaluate the accuracy and utility of deep learning-based conformational sampling • Investigated mutation sites and structural features of a fusion oncoprotein to evaluate potential therapeutic targetability
