Worked on Oil&Gas pipeline monitoring software, SCADA, to expand software functionality and introduce new product features. Built features by analyzing requirements specification documents and integrating solutions with MySQL database and VB.net front-end interface. Frequently interacted with clients to coordinate feature release cycles and travelled to client sites to manage production go-lives. Gained experience working with realtime and historical datasets; performed deep SQL queries to present complex SQL data to clients with quick response times; improved efficiency of SCADA operators by automating their tactile tasks in Perl/Bash/XML and enhancing software UI in VB.net Received customer appreciations and manager awards.
Worked on IBM's database system called DB2 where I was responsible for performing code integration on DB2's software. The job required analyzing code in C/C++ and propagating correct code changes through different releases of DB2. Effectively communicating and managing release schedules across development and testing teams played a major role in successfully addressing high priority defects and delivering fixes quickly. I also automated the manual code integration process through PERL scripting. This reduced manual work of~7 weeks to 2 days, thus improving team efficiency by 71%. Also mentored and managed two interns.
