With over 15 years of experience in energy materials research and development, I lead a dynamic and motivated team of researchers at the INM - Leibniz Institute for New Materials and Saarland University (UdS). As a UdS Full Professor and INM Research Department Leader, I oversee the synthesis, characterization, and application of electroactive nanomaterials for energy storage, water treatment, ion recovery, and battery recycling. My vision is to contribute to a sustainable future by developing innovative materials and technologies that can address the global challenges of energy and water scarcity. I am passionate about exploring the edge of science and mentoring the next generation of researchers. I welcome like-minded individuals who want to join my group and share my mission. I am also the Editor-in-Chief of Energy Advances of the Royal Society of Chemistry where I promote the dissemination of cutting-edge research and foster the collaboration among the scientific community.
