•Lead translational biomarker research in early stage clinical development of cellular therapeutics •Development of novel preclinical models for immunogenicity and therapeutic activity of cellular products •Lead studies and generate non-clinical study reports for regulatory submissions. •Establish and lead reserch collaborations for preclinical and translational studies in areas of neurodegenerative disease, immunology, oncology and safety / toxicology for development of cellular therapeutics.
• Lead translational studies for a clinical - stage cellular therapy product in autoimmune / inflammatory disease indications (in vivo mode of action studies, identification of disease modification biomarkers). • Lead the development of novel translational assays to investigate pharmacodynamic parameters of the CCT cellular therapy product candidate in early phase autoimmune disease clinical trials. • Evaluated and initiated collaborations with external research organizations to identify unique activities of cell therapy agents (immune modification, tissue regeneration, activation of endogenous repair mechanisms). • Participated in the evaluation of novel business development opportunities in cellular immunotherapy • Contributed written sections of in vitro and in vivo preclinical findings for CCT regulatory documents, clinical investigator brochures and IP applications. •Internal (divisional and corporate) and external (scientific advisory board) scientific presentations.
Study of hematopoietic stem cell biology and leukemogenesis utilizing gene targeted mice and primary human hematopoietic stem cell cultures. Central aim was to test roles of known oncogenes and tumor suppressors in maintenance of normal tissue progenitors, providing useful insights for molecular targeting of leukemia initiating cells.
