Drawing on a 20-year foundation in architecture and design, Viviana’s current work explores sacred art as a contemporary practice through sculpture, artistic research, creative nonfiction, and installation.
In collaboration with her partner Mark Fekete, Viviana co-founded the design-build studio Mark + Vivi. Together they purchase, design, and renovate dilapidated buildings in transitioning neighborhoods. Themes include: Sustainability, upcylcled materials, and community enrichment led by the "architect as developer" model. The studio's first project - a renovated Tire Shop - has been published in various international magazines as well as two books by Taschen: 100 Contemporary Brick Buildings (2017) & Small Architecture Now! (2014). In 2018, Mark + Vivi transformed an abandoned furniture warehouse into a residential, CoLiving residence for young professionals in the college town of Sherbrooke, Québec. Viviana was part of the team of interdisciplinary, creative designers in Le Bureau du Guide Créatif (Creation department) at Cirque du Soleil, IHQ, Montréal. Viviana’s role as a Creative Content Designer invited her to conceive and test show ideas at the conceptual level, guiding directors with the latest innovations in the field of live entertainment. Multidisciplinary responsibilities included: Ideation, prototyping, building physical study models, curating video content, R&D, brand vision & business presentations, marketing research. She contributed work to pitch presentations involving the following brands: Disney, HBO, Lego, Cartoon Network, DreamWorks, Jim Henson, and Dr. Seuss. Viviana had direct access to the design process behind Cirque’s Big Top show “Luzia” - where she contributed to the front-of-house visitor experience. C: LAB Projects Viviana contributed to the creative concept, artistic direction, and production of the following projects under C:Lab, Cirque du Soleil’s creative laboratory. Lead Designer - C:Lab meeting room Interior design & production. Transformed an existing meeting room on Cirque's IHQ campus into an inspirational creative space for the C:Lab team and invited guests. Details included: foam pit, neon red wall, giant writing wall, rewired stage lights, and a large meeting table repurposed from Cirque's Costumes & Fabrication department. SPECIAL PROJECTS as a supporting designer _C2 Montreal Business Conference, May 26,27,28 2015: The NEST, a performance installation about intuition and connection. _E-Merge Exhibit, Arsenal Contemporary Art Gallery, Montreal, QC. The NEST on display from June 19, 2015 to September 13, 2015. Special invitation to adapt the installation to display the creative elements of the work.
Viviana was Creative Liaison to Welby Altidor, former Executive Creative Director of Creations at CdS. This role entailed calendar assistance, talent evaluation, creative research, presentations, and formal representation in the following departments: Creation & Production, Corporate Alliances, Marketing, and Branding.
Viviana developed the creative content for C2MTL social media platforms: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest. She designed the concept behind the 2013-2014 C2MTL Blog under the mentorship of Marie-Ève Boisvert (VP of Communications at C2MTL) and Nadia Rousseau (Director of Communications at C2MTL). Viviana's objectives for 2014 included the following: 1. Engage online audience year-round with inspiring content on "Business & Creativity" in order to grow C2MTL's credibility on such subjects. 2. Continue growing brand awareness. 3. Collaborate with the various departments within the company: Production, Sales, Content and Corporate Alliances etc. in order to execute a cohesive strategy. 4. Explore new ways to establish a stronger international presence. 5. Inspire collaboration with international and Montreal-based companies with like-minded business goals. 6. Build an online network with international influencers.
