Assistant Professor in the Institute of Environmental and Interdisciplinary Science, cross-appointed to the Biology Department at Carleton University. I teach in the Interdisciplinary Science and Practice program, a newly launched program beginning Fall 2019. My research interests and expertise include: - Human dimensions of natural resource management - Knowledge mobilization and exchange / science communication / science policy - Adoption and diffusion of innovation - Community knowledge and engagement - Public and stakeholder perceptions - Knowledge and evidence synthesis - Survey design and analysis

My research focuses on the integration of science into fisheries management and conservation action.
Assisted in designing and developing the lab and lecture components of third year Biology course (Animal Behaviour). Responsible for coordinating lab sessions, and delivering lab and lecture materials and activities. We use a Team-Based Learning for delivering the course materials, which require extensive logistical and organization skills.
Developed and delivered the course material for 4th year Environmental Science Seminar titled Environmental Science and Evidence-Based Policy.
Contracted to implement and analyze two online questionnaires that surveyed CUPE membership at Carleton University in preparation for bargaining for a new collective agreement with the University.
Coordinated project proposal and secured funding from the Latin-Caribbean Research Exchange Grant (approx. $15,000) for research on the ecology of catfish in Amazonian Brazil using integrative approaches (i.e., local ecological knowledge, telemetry, and otolith microchemistry).
