Consultant Spinal Neurosurgeon based in London, with private practice at Cleveland Clinic London and NHS practice at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square (UCLH). Mr Russo has a particular subspecialist interest in spinal tumour surgery, including primary and metastatic spinal tumours involving bone, spinal cord and nerves. His practice includes a significant workload in intramedullary spinal cord tumours, as well as complex extradural and intradural spinal tumour pathology. He also has recognised expertise in complex reconstructive spinal surgery for degenerative spinal disorders, spinal deformity, cranio-cervical junction pathology, and complex revision spinal surgery. Uniquely dual-trained in both neurosurgical and orthopaedic spinal surgery, Mr Russo completed advanced fellowships at leading centres across the UK and USA, including London, Oxford, and New Orleans. This dual expertise enables him to offer the full spectrum of modern spinal care, from microsurgical and minimally invasive techniques through to robotic-assisted procedures, motion-preserving surgery such as cervical disc replacement, and complex open reconstructive spinal surgery. Mr Russo is an Honorary Associate Professor at University College London (UCL), with an active academic portfolio including peer-reviewed publications, international presentations and teaching. He has received multiple academic awards, including recognition from the European Association of Neurosurgical Societies and the British Association of Spinal Surgeons and British Scoliosis Society.
