Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain
Driven by a deep belief in equality of opportunity and a strong aversion to injustice, I’m the founder of Iguality: a nonprofit based in Catalonia, Spain, working to make mental health support more accessible, innovative, and community-driven. As a mental health advocate and social innovator, I’m passionate about using tech and AI to rethink how the social sector operates and how it can better support those from underrepresented and underserved communities. Iguality brings together everything I care about: social justice, mental health, and pragmatic, forward-thinking solutions. My background in social work, data analysis, nonprofit management, political science and philosophy shapes the way I approach challenges - always with a focus on systemic change, innovation and a human-centred mindset. Alongside growing Iguality, I freelance with VSG Consulting, supporting nonprofits and small businesses with strategy, operations, and digital transformation. Over the years, I’ve worked with a wide range of organisations—both nonprofit and for-profit—across the Netherlands, South Africa, Suriname, Greece, and Spain. I hold a Bachelor degree in Social Work (Amsterdam) and Master degrees in Political Philosophy and Communication Science (Barcelona).
Together with a great team of dedicated people we founded Iguality in August 2022. With a strong belief that mental health care should be accessible to all members of society, we provide free mental health care to communities at risk of social exclusion in Barcelona and beyond.
My own consultancy services focussed on digital transformation, efficiency and business optimisation. Through VSG Consulting, I support small to larger businesses and nonprofits with optimised growth and becoming more efficient, more automated and better structured.
Fulfilling an advisory role in the Board of Directors of Open Cultural Center and Refugees Welcome, contributing to their great social impact in refugee and migrant communities.
After co-founding MigraCode Barcelona, I was made responsible for managing the Spain/Barcelona office of OCC, managing a team of 16+ staff members and dozens of volunteers. I was overseeing our wide range of projects, maintaining local and European (EU) partnerships (including CSR collaborations), supporting our Greek office, organising a wide range of events, coaching & training team members, managing our IT infrastructure and taking care of many HR-related aspects of the organisation.
Responsible for the smooth running of the company and managing small to large accounts, whilst also working on specific projects like corporate rebranding, process optimisation and the implementation of custom-made CRM and ATS systems. Continued on a freelance basis after this period.
At OCC, I co-founded MigraCode Barcelona, a tech academy for refugees and migrants. I was responsible for overseeing the work of the main MigraCode team, supporting our large volunteer community, placing graduates in tech positions, offering psychosocial support to students and further developing and extending Corporate Social Responsibility relationships with partners from the tech sector. I continued to manage MigraCode Barcelona also after becoming coordinator of OCC.
