About

I am a PhD-trained neuroscientist with experience conducting independent research within regulated laboratory environments. Throughout my doctoral work, I analysed complex and sometimes conflicting datasets, clarified methodological uncertainties, and contributed to collaborative research projects operating under ethical and institutional compliance requirements. My work has required coordinating across supervisors, collaborators and technical teams, within resource and time constraints. I have prepared structured written materials including manuscripts, milestone reports and methodological documentation, with an emphasis on clarity, proportional interpretation and transparent articulation of limitations. I am particularly interested in work involving evidence appraisal, critical reasoning under uncertainty, and clear communication.

Experience

  • The University of Queensland (6 yrs 9 mos)
    • Casual Academic (Teaching, Animal Technician)
      Aug 2019 - Feb 2026 · 6 yrs 7 mos

      • Delivered laboratory-based teaching across undergraduate health and biomedical courses. • Guided students in experimental design, data interpretation and structured analytical report writing. • Operated within institutional safety, compliance and animal ethics frameworks. • Performed casual animal technician duties within regulated research facilities.

    • Doctoral Researcher
      Jul 2020 - Jun 2025 · 5 yrs

      • Conducted independent research examining regulatory mechanisms in neuromuscular systems using experimental and quantitative methods (sharp electrode electrophysiology). • Applied statistical modelling to high-variance biological datasets to distinguish signal from artefact and clarify uncertain findings. • Prepared manuscripts, milestone reports and conference presentations, responding to external peer review and revising interpretations proportionately

    • Senior Research Assistant (Various Contracts)
      Dec 2021 - May 2025 · 3 yrs 6 mos

      • Supported collaborative biomedical research projects involving experimental design, data collection and quantitative analysis under grant deadlines. • Assisted with laboratory wind-down processes, including documentation of controlled substances in accordance with regulatory requirements. • Maintained inventory records and compliance documentation to ensure audit readiness during lab closure.
