Continued the same research project under Dr. Christine McCarthy's supervision in the Rock & Ice Mechanics Lab. During this summer, I focused on developing a computational model that aimed to calculate and predict the velocities (in m/s) of real world temperate glaciers using friction data from my experiments.
Worked on a glacial geophysics research project under Dr. Christine McCarthy's supervision, to better understand how characteristics of different rock types within bedrock, like porosity and roughness, can contribute to how quick basal sliding can cause glaciers to slide into the ocean.
