Industrial Placement working in the FTSE team, specialising in Transfer Pricing
Returned for a second summer at Trail’s End Camp in Pennsylvania as a Culinary Specialist, this time living with and caring for a cabin of 6–8 year olds. Supporting such young campers pushed me to grow in empathy, patience, and emotional awareness. Throughout the summer, I regularly stepped into the role of Group Leader, overseeing up to 35 campers and 11 counselors. I was also honored to be chosen as an Olympic Captain in the final week, leading a team of 200 campers and 30 staff to victory.
In this role, I managed the finances of one of the largest societies at UoB. This involved creating budgets for sports leagues, social events and the Summer Ball, which was attended by over 100 students. I collaborated with other committee members to set membership fees and event pricing, strengthening my organisational and teamwork skills.
During my time at university, I have been a Features and News journalist at The Birmingham Tab, writing relatable and informative articles for students at UoB and other universities in the city.
In this role, I worked as an in-bunk specialist at a summer camp for children in rural Pennsylvania. I taught Culinary Arts to children aged 7-16 whilst also living with, looking after and fostering the development of my own bunk of girls aged 8-9 alongside my co-counsellors.
